ENERGY IS THE LIFEBLOOD OF TEXAS MANUFACTURING . . .
. .
. as critical to its success as dependable employees and affordable raw
materials. Energy costs and reliability directly impact the bottom line and the
ability of Texas manufacturers to compete in the state, national and world
marketplaces. Its availability is a matter of survival . . . for manufacturers,
their employees, and ultimately, the Texas economy.
That's why Texas Association of Manufacturers held the Texas Energy Summit, in Houston, November 16th & 17th, 2006. The summit brought manufacturers and energy experts to the table with elected officials, business leaders and utility industry representatives, to promote a dialogue concerning the challenges and opportunities ahead. And, to generate more consensus as we move forward to attain more affordable, reliable energy for Texas manufacturers and all consumers.
WHO ATTENDED?
Participants included Texas Manufacturers that depends on electricity to keep
their products moving out the door; as well as, Chambers of Commerce, Economic
Development and Utility Executives; Elected Representatives; City Managers;

The availability of affordable, uninterrupted electric power may be the single biggest issue that Texas manufacturing faces. This is your opportunity to get informed about and involved in the formulation of energy policy and legislation that will determine the direction of Texas energy for decades.
