Congratulate 2008 Texan of the Year: Lieutenant Governor David Dewhurst
Austin,
TX – The Texas Association of Manufacturers congratulated Lt.
Governor David Dewhurst today for being named 2008 Texan of the Year at
this week’s 42nd Annual Texas Legislative Conference.
“Members of the Texas Association of Manufacturers know Governor
Dewhurst as leader, a dedicated businessman and a friend of manufacturing,”
said Tony Bennett, chairman of TAM. “Governor Dewhurst has worked
to pass tax and tort reform and maintains a constant focus on education
to build the workforce Texas needs. He’s an ideal choice for this
year’s Texan of the Year award.”
Governor Dewhurst joins past recipients of the Texas Legislative Conference
Texan of the Year award including President George Bush, President George
W. Bush, Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison, Congresswoman Barbara Jordan, Secretary
of State James Baker, and last year’s recipient Governor Rick Perry.
